Your Picnic Leftovers Could Kill Horses!
Be Horse Aware - Thank you for not feeding other people's horses. Please click here to view a YouTube video explaing how. The British Horse Society are urging members of the public to not feed horses without the owner’s permission. Although frequently motivated by kindness, feeding unknown horses can result in horrifying unintended consequences by making the horse extremely ill - in some cases horses have died. Watch as we take you through the real-life emotion and heart ache that has sadly been a reality for so many horse owners and highlights the real dangers of feeding horses.
New Highway Code
A new Highway Code comes in force on Saturday 29th January 2022. Among other things, it gives priority to vulnerable road users and horse-riders are specifically mentioned! For more information and links please visit our News page.
LRBA Updated Policies 2022
All of LRBA Policies can now be found on the Constitution page as they fall under the Constition. There is an easy to use menu at the head of the page where you can select the desired policy you wish to see. Just click on it and it will take you to that specific part of the page where the policy lies. Click here for the Constitution Page link.
The LRBA exists to improve, extend and maintain the wonderful network of bridleways in the two Shire counties of Leicestershire and Rutland and their immediate surroundings. At LRBA we have a splendid programme of LRBA Rides, for which you have to be a member. For other Non LRBA Rides please click here. The annual cost is only £10 and all you have to do is to send in the Membership Form.
The rides cost £15 (£5 for under 18s); the Ride Entry Form should be sent to the individual ride organiser listed on the Rides Programme. Our Networks Officer is replacing the Face-to-Face Area Meetings which had to be dropped under Covid-19 rules, with Zoom meetings on particular themes for riders across the region rather than by areas. More details to follow. The News section gives information on bridleway closures and problems as well as events. The latest issue of our Newsletter can also be found in the news section and shows how active we are in trying to improve the network of riding routes in our region.
Day to day updates are to be found on our Facebook page. Click on the logo below to catch up on our latest news and photographs. LRBA members can send information about local Bridleway problems and hazards to facebook@bridlewayslrba.org.uk to be immediately available to warn local riders. We can publicise and enhance details of LRBA events and those of other local equestrian organisations. Adverts are not permitted.
